Whether expressed through cozy, timeless patterns or whimsical, pastel-toned motifs, each piece creates a warm, giftable feel enhanced by bows, handcrafted details, and subtle finishing touches. Together, they evoke a comforting yet enchanting holiday atmosphere designed to elevate the gifting and unboxing experience.
Through our research, we’ve identified two emerging design trends for Holiday of 2026 that encapsulate this drive for genuine experiences while taking bold twists on tradition. We aimed to develop packaging pieces that defy consumer expectations and create moments of accessible everyday luxury.
FROSTED GINGERBELLE
Frosted Gingerbelle looks sweet enough to eat! This trend highlights the tenderness of the season with muted pastels and a dreamy aesthetic. Packaging crafted in playful shapes, like gingerbread cookies, cozy cottages, and glimmering baubles wraps each piece in a nostalgic sense of childhood holiday magic and whimsy. Patchwork patterns and mixed winter florals that feel like hand-painted ceramics create an heirloom feel that calls back to traditional holiday crafts and sweet memories spent with loved ones. Its unconventional core colors bring out the serenity of winter. Muted pastels like Wilted Petal and buttery Sentimental Yellow give off a soflty snow dusted vibe, while beautiful frosted greens add depth and capture that quiet mint-fresh feeling of winter air. These understated shades are further elevated when paired with subtle pops of iridescent foils, shimmer papers, and glossy varnishes.
CRIMSON NOEL
Like a peppermint swirl, Crimson Noel is the perfect blend of festive charm and timeless sophistication. Packaging sets the tone of understated luxury by pairing classic holiday patterns and icons with elevated details, like embossed designs, velvety textures, and contrasting matte and gloss finishes. Though wrapped in a sophisticated allure, Crimson Noel offers a playful edge with teddy bear and bow motifs and it’s use of charming vintage typefaces. Thoughtfully designed keepsake elements ensure the packaging remains cherished long after the holiday season, making every purchase feel special and memorable. Its richly festive palette balances classicly striking Tomato Red and Steeped Green with dramatic darks and warm earth tones to create the atmosphere of an intimate candlelit gathering. These colors can be woven together in cozy plaids, or make a bold staement on their own when paired with gold and copper metallics.
